Ice Cream homemade

Making homemade ice cream can be a fun and delicious project. Here's a basic recipe for vanilla ice cream that you can customize with your favorite flavors:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ice Cream Maker: If you have an ice cream maker, make sure the bowl is frozen according to the manufacturer's instructions. This usually takes about 24 hours.

  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is completely dissolved. Make sure the mixture is well combined.

  3. Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2-4 hours or overnight. This step helps the flavors meld and ensures a smoother texture.

  4. Freeze the Ice Cream: If you're using an ice cream maker, turn it on and pour the chilled mixture into the machine. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for churning and freezing. This typically takes about 20-30 minutes.

If you don't have an ice cream maker, you can pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer. Every 30 minutes, stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals. Repeat this process for about 2-3 hours until the ice cream reaches the desired consistency.

  5. Add Mix-Ins (Optional): If you want to add any mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or cookie pieces, fold them into the ice cream during the last few minutes of churning or after reaching the desired consistency.

  6. Transfer and Harden: Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to a lidded container and freeze for an additional 2-4 hours, or until firm.

  7. Serve and Enjoy: Scoop the homemade ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Feel free to experiment with different flavors by adding ingredients like fruit puree, chocolate, or caramel sauce. Homemade ice cream provides endless possibilities for creativity and personalization.
